    Kristin Scott Thomas will star in a new version of The Audience at the Apollo Theatre from spring 2015. She will play The Queen, the role originated by Dame Helen Mirren for which she won the 2013 Olivier Award for Best Actress.
    Peter Morgan's The Audience will again be directed by Stephen Daldry, with previews beginning 21 April 2015, with press night on 5 May 2015 and booking to 25 July 2015.
    Multi award-wining theatre and film actor Kristin Scott Thomas is currently starring in Sophocles' Electra at the Old Vic until 20 December. Her West End theatre credits include Ian Rickson's productions of The Seagull (for which she won the Olivier Award for Best Actress), Betrayal and Old Times, Jonathan Kent's As You Desire Me and Michael Blakemore's production of Three Sisters. Her extensive film credits include Sous Ton Emprise, Une Femme Parfaite and Nowhere Boy, Only God Forgives, Bel Ami, Salmon Fishing in Yemen, Easy Virtue, The Other Boleyn Girl, Gosford Park, The Horse Whisperer, The English Patient, Mission Impossible, Angels & Insects and Four Weddings and a Funeral.
    Peter Morgan is an international award-winning writer for stage, screen and film. His films include Stephen Frears’ The Queen starring Helen Mirren, Frost/Nixon (on stage and screen), The Last King of Scotland, The Damned United and Rush. His extensive television credits include the critically acclaimed The Deal – the first part of Morgan’s Tony Blair Trilogy (BAFTA Award for Best Drama), The Special Relationship and Longford.
    Stephen Daldry most recently directed the sell-out production of David Hare's Skylight at the Wyndham's Theatre. His further directorial credits include the original production of The Audience starring Mirren, An Inspector Calls at the National Theatre, and Billy Elliot The Musical. Daldry'ss films include Billy Elliot, The Hours, The Reader, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and Trash.
    The Audience imagines the weekly meetings Queen Elizabeth II has held at Buckingham Palace with each of the twelve Prime Minister who have served during her 60-year reign. Both parties have an unspoken agreement never to repeat what is said, not even to their spouses. From Churchill to Cameron, each Prime Minister uses these private conversations as a sounding board and a confessional - sometimes intimate, sometimes explosive.
    The Audience received its world premiere in February 2013 at the Gielgud Theatre with Helen Mirren leading the cast. Mirren will re-create the role of The Queen when the show transfers to Broadway in February 2015.
    Produced in the West End by Matthew Byam Shaw for Playful Productions, Robert Fox and Andy Harries, The Audience will feature designs by Bob Crowley, with lighting by Rick Fisher, sound by Paul Arditti and music by Paul Englishby. Further casting is yet to be announced.
